Hoping a hen would go broody

Silkies go broody a lot, I hear cochins do to. I have also heard good things about black australorps, dark cornish, and old style RIRs. Muscovy ducks go broody all the time if you want a broody bird other than chickens. Heritage turkeys also go broody often.

I keep golf balls in my nest box all the time, at first it was just to show them where to lay, but now that my hens are used to the golf balls some of them get upset if they're removed.

I have removed golf balls from under a broody and it doesn't stop anything, they keep sitting there regardless.
