But I have no idea what they are (except for 1 who I'm pretty sure is female.)
I finally got pictures of them, are they adequate to tell what gender they are? They are about 8 weeks old.

Golden Comet #1

Rhode Island Reds (and the cat's tail on the left)

Rhode Island Red in the back, supposedly an Americauna and the other Golden Comet (The one I think is female, based on the color...)

The other Americauna, back view of the RIRs and Golden Comet 1 from above.

I really appreciate any ideas you might have on the gender of my chickens!

OK, so we were talking to the girl who was in charge of the chickens at the county fair tonight. She told me that you can tell a male from a female because the males have pointy wing feathers. So we ran home and checked them. Oh dear - they ALL look like they have pointy wing feathers, even the golden comet, who I thought was female because of its coloring. Is the pointy wing feather thing true for all breeds? I'm panicking...

The "pointy" feathering that roosters have are in the hackle (neck) and saddle (back meets tail) area, not the wings - but she may have just been having one of those moments where the mouth is running ahead of the brain as she explained it to you. These generally are not a good indicator at the age that your chicks are at as they develop as the bird gets closer to reaching sexual maturity (4-6 months is a common range you'll see, I tend to think of it as 12+ weeks) Also, the "pointy" bit can be a bit deceptive in what appears pointy to someone is way different than the pointy feathering that is being discussed here.

This is one example of a picture of what the "pointy" feathers look like:

Thank you for setting my mind at ease. She was absolutely talking about wings, as she took a hen and a rooster out and spread their wings to show us. However, she may have been talking about that particular breed (it was black and white like a zebra - rock something?) or just made a mistake.
I guess, until they cock-a-doodle do, or don't, I'll just have to be patient. I believe they should start laying in 6 weeks or so, that should tell me!

Your pics aren't the greatest for sexing (up close comb shots and full side veiw are best). Your EE is definitly a pullet as are all of your sex-links, the only one is the RIR in back, but I would have to see the comb.
