I have the same issues with my hen Olivia, she has sour crop, I will try the Epsom salt drink. This is what worked for me so far. 1 cap of milton to 2 litres of water. It perked Olivia up the next day

Update:
She’s hanging in there and we started her on the miconzole this morning!
She’s been drinking water more on her own, and I fed her some scrambled egg last night.
Lots of crop massages, and offering food/scrambled egg, I’m hoping she’ll feel more like eating soon on the new medication.

The poops are still odd and yellow/whitish and watery, but nothing new. There’s no swelling in her abdomen, so probably not the peritonitis thankfully.

I’ll keep her warm and let her rest and hope for the best!

Most of them got absorbed into her bedding, but I caught a few on this. She still kinda strains to get them out, and some of them are quite watery.

Her intense own mouth breathing is settling down, I have no clue what’s causing it, but it’s really nice to see her more comfy, and it seems like a tiny step in the right direction!

The dark green droppings look like she is not getting enough to eat. Try a spoonful of chicken crumbles mixed with a lot of water to offer her twice a day. Some egg is also good. Let us know how she is getting along.

I’ve been feeding her some soft scrambled egg, but it seems like there’s an issue with food moving past her crop.
I’m massaging it lots each day. she’s still on the epsom salt, but it seems like the main issue now is getting the crop contents to move along into the rest of her digestion.
I’ll keep offering food and water, and taking her outside a few times a day to ‘walk’ around with the other hens
Her breathing is back to looking rough, at least she doesn’t seem too bothered by it.

She drank some water this evening, but then it came back out as she was standing and it had the awful sour crop smell.
Sadly she’s not doing too well today. She hasn’t been able to digest any of the food I’ve fed her from the last few days, and I think there’s an underlying issue that’s creating the crop problems. I don’t think she’s been able to properly digest for at least a week now:/
It doesn’t feel impacted, but there are some malleable squishy solids in there that haven’t moved out.
Keeping her warm and cozy, she still does a feeble tail wag when I place her into her basket

I did not have a tube and I did it 5ml at a time, it was very uncomfortable for my rooster, he struggled with the syringe gone down this throat so often. Lucky,he pooped liquid so much after that & his crop was emptied so I did not do it again. I am looking to get a tube for next time.

I read somewhere online about chicken with impacted crop that the Vet did a small incision to remove the material inside the impacted crop.

Sorry that I don't have much experience in this to share with you. Seeing you and your girl going through this remind me of my precious girl, our many night spend hand feed her, she knew I was trying to help her.
