In the Brooder
So, I am researching/looking to purchase an automatic horizontal chicken door opener. Does someone know of any other brand than Butler? Not so good reviews. Any help? Thanks

Thank you, thank you.The Ador1 pictured above is made to mount vertical or horizontal. It has a moving sprocket, does not rely on gravity.

The ADOR1 is the door I'll install when I finally get around to purchasing one.
They move fairly slow so unless the chicken is extra stupid they have plenty of time to get outta the way. This really is a great inventionI was looking at these and wondering---do chickens ever get caught in these things? I am guessing that they don't have an automatic reversal thing like a garage door.
Chickens are mostly on the roost well before the doors shut when on light sensor operation. They do close slowly just like M Scott stated.I was looking at these and wondering---do chickens ever get caught in these things?
