So I was at the store today strolling past the seasonal section and I wondered...do you think I could make a waterer using horizontal nipples installed on a drink cooler?

If it is double walled, you would have to make sure it went through both walls. Other then that I don't see why not.

Not sure if you saw this video. Instead of the white container, you could take out the igloo spiggot and put one of the pvc contraptions.

Thanks! I have the horizontal nipples and I'm thinking I could fashion something with pvc fittings to adapt the cooler spout hole. Or I may just use a good ol' bucket in the end anyway since I'll probaby have to heat it in winter no matter what. Good videos on that link!

My husband made a watered out of an old igloo cooler. It's the Orange, round one. He found some flexible tubing and a rubber stopper to fit in the old spigot and attached a horizontal piece of PVC coming out of that with 4 pieces coming down from the horizontal pvc to hold the nipples. I freeze a juice jug and throw it in the cooler and the water stays ice cold in Texas for about 3 days.
