We have 2 roosters, both of which are 4.5 months old- they were raised together since day one, and the one is a rosecomb bantam and the other is a RIR. They’re nice to each other with a few chest bumps and the hens and ducks all get along. The RB is actually head “cockerel” too. They are all super people friendly and loving. It really couldn’t be going better, except one thing, the RIR won’t stop forcing himself on everyone all the time. The RB did that for about 2 weeks and then grew out of it and into a gentleman who asks for permission on the rare occasion he does mate, but the the RIR has been doing it 3 weeks now and getting worse. It’s really upsetting the hens (all pullets around the same age) and ducks. He won’t stop. He’s way worse than the RB was. I’ve tried holding him more and giving him extra attention, I’ve tried spraying him with water, and just chasing him off of them over and over again. I’ve tried isolating him. They all have lots of room to play and roam. It’s just non stop need to mate with everyone. Will he grow out of it too? Is there anything more I can do? Getting rid of him is not an option, he’s my baby.
