Horrible swollen thing coming out of my hen's mouth!

Incase anyone comes looking at this thread for help, it’s a damaged saliva gland. All the swelling is backed up saliva. It can be fixed. Here’s an article on it:

Interesting article, thanks! This chicken of mine did survive and doing well 1 year later now. Was shocked she pulled through, and I’m glad we gave her 3 days to heal rather than cull

I’m so glad to heard that! It’s crazy how resilient they are!
