Thanks everyone.
Searching he ovaries route has been the most appropriate we think.
We decided not to prod poke or pull anything on the basis this was a natural thing and she didnt ook in any distress.
This morning the 'thing' has gone.
I have searched the coop and no sign of it being expelled.
There is a possibility that mice or rats have taken it away.
I hope thats what happened as I really do not like the idea its gone back inside!
I will keep you all informed.
