Love your photos and adventure @Washtay !!

So I am finally here! I am not new to horse ownership. My husband and each have a retired horse. My husband has a young horse he bought for trail/endurance riding (NATRAC). Last January we loaded everything and everybody up and moved from Southern California to just north of Portland. So now that we have barn stalls and pasture and a big arena I have purchased a sweet beautiful mare for myself. She is a six year old grulla and adorable. Her grulla markings don’t show well in this photo but they really are there. She’s coming around the 30th or so.

She is beautiful!!! Where is she coming from? Such a big move takes courage (and strength), congratulations on all of it- big move, barn and stalls, beautiful horse! It sounds absolutely amazing and I hope it all feels wonderful. I'd love to see photos of your new spot/barn/stalls- I suffer from land/barn/stall envy. :p

The move was unreal. We lived in our soCa house for 30 years so imagine the stuff we had! I lived there my whole life and then four days later we were living here. A little culture shock but now that we have a place to get authentic Mexican food I feel better! Also I hired a barn helper who is great. She has lived here all of her life. Also her boyfriend does various kinds of work too. It's ideal.

My horse is coming from sort of near Salem. The seller is bringing her and wants to see our place in person. I really really like that about her. I'm very excited!

Be glad you missed the terrible fives! I got my horse when he turned four. He was an angle despite being a green youngin. We could do whatever we wanted he was an angle...and then he turned five and I didn’t want to do anything with him because well...he was a psycho. Then he turned six and he was an angle again. He turned eight this year and still has his angle attitude.

Oh yes, I remember part of your story a few pages back or on another thread. Congrats on the new addition to your family. She sure is cute.

I was doing ground work with my guy Hombre in the round pen when i heard the ruckus about 100 yards away. So I ran over with my phone to see what i could catch. We knew this was coming. This is "Hottie" and new addition <3 her mom was just adorable/happy. It is awesome to see barely contained pure joy.

Hey there. Welcome to all the members I haven’t greeted yet. I stopped getting alerts. We had to give my companion horse back to his owners because he is to old. Finally my horse Hudson is actually starting to come up to me!

Wow! I’ve always wanted a foal! Is she yours or your neighbors?
