Aloha kakahiaka horse peeps!
Congrats on the much needed rain @Butterscotchbitesfinger - That is fantastic to hear and thanks for keeping us posted. I'd love to see photos of it greening up and of course that big hunk of Hudson happily grazing, if you can and like .
We had a few hours of light rain for a few days this last week also, enough for our Green Panic variety grass to quickly come back so I was able to graze Hombre and Cisco after their workout last eve. Nothing like a few green morsels -YUM!. I'm sure when I go do my morning feed their fence line will be all pushed out .
Here is last weekends photo of the little cricket goober- no real name yet- so going with little cricket goober... I'm hoping to go for a visit maybe this weekend or soon after.

Already the grass has changed from brown to Yellow. I will post once again when it goes further green

Went to visit little cricket on Saturday. Momma was not thrilled with us strangers and promptly whisked her charge down the pasture away from us but did come back to check us out from a distance. She is a fantastic mom. Cricket is fattening up and looks very healthy, happy and wise.

We had a great rain with flash flood warnings yesterday. Waialeale received 6.50" in a few hours. It was awesome. Come on grass!!!

I agree! I think he looks like a Cricket, though she named him... ugh... Felix She is an awesome horsewoman but a terrible name giver to horses. IMO. I'll just keep calling him Cricket

Hi people! Did not want this thread to disappear because I like my horse fixes. Anything new and exciting peeps?
Me? Well.... I cooled off on the colt. Have not seen him for quite awhile. I dono... guess I just got busy.
Last month I went and dropped eggs off to a customer, then went and visited my friend and her herd... fell in love with Cisco's 3/4 sister. (Same mom, 1/2 brother ). Like Hombre but nice and shorter.

She is only 1.5 but I was ready to put money down on her. DH is against a third horse... So, I guess Hombre better shape up lol.
OK. but how cute are these guys?!!! Visiting her place is such a slice of heaven.

Hi @TropicalBabies! I was just thinking of posting in this thread because I haven't seen anyone post in a while. And wow, it is GORGEOUS where you are! It does look like a slice of heaven. Sorry to hear about the colt and mare. Guess some things just don't work out...hopefully you can get a third horse one day!

Nothing much new is going on over in my world...but last Sunday I did go to my stable's Christmas party! It was fun. I tried the game 'ride a buck' for the first time, as well. I was the third one out but the mare (pics below) I rode is pretty hot and unseated me a few times when she got excited.

This is Amarillo, the mare I've been practicing barrels with. I dressed her up as a sleigh horse and we even won second place in 'best homemade costume' for the contest.
