Horse Harness for Dog to Pull Cart?

Hey,

I am currently working on a project. It is time for my Pyr mix to have a job, and we are going to train her to pull carts. However, I was wondering if I could use an old leather horse halter as a harness. I tried it on her and it seemed to work just fine. The darn thing broke months ago and has just been laying around so I'd like to repurpose it.

Has anybody used a halter as a harness?

I used a draft halter (nylon) for my English Mastiff that worked good, but I've given up the hole draft dog endeavor LOL!

Did the halter work well though? I'm going to try with my Pyr...she's so smart and needs something to occupy her lol
