Horse kiss?

I've had my boy do it. Well, "mine". I volunteer at Rainhill Equine Facility - Aiden is my baby boy, he's completely blind. When I first come to visit, he'll walk up and smell of me. He usually sticks his face in mine, wanting me to blow in his nose. After I do he'll blow in mine and just smell me for a minute. I'll give him a kiss and then it's time for treats. After that, it's scratch/rubbing time, which he'll take the time to "groom" my pants leg and hoodie if I have one on.

Horses have a funny way of seeing through us and straight to our heart. Nothing like that kind of bond

...I'm not sure why but this got me crying, I just love this old guy, he's not really my horse so I don't get to spend time with him like this very often. Honestly when I went out there I was afraid he wouldn't remember me anymore but it was just like old times again. It was lovely and peaceful and I could tell he was enjoying it as much as I was...there was something special about it all and when he did that it made it even more special in a way I can't describe...it was almost like he was saying he had missed me too

I guess I realized how much I didn't want that to be a goodbye...you know?

Go again very soon so it will NOT be goodbye, eh? What a sweet thing to do.

part of how horses greet each other is to breathe each other's breath... they'll stand nose to nose and breathe for 4 or 5 breaths. they'll do this with other animals as well, and people too. we do this with our horses, they'll stretch their heads out and go nose to nose with us for a couple of breaths.

sometimes they'll just come and put their head on you and close their eyes. it's happy, relaxed, comfortable way of hanging out. it's sweet, I love it.
