Well don't spoil anything for me I'm only on season 5!
And that's good, I think that just means they have a good bond with you. For the first month of having June she followed me everywhere, but now she is occupied with Phoenix and the pasture. Phoenix is starting to follow me around, and I'm sure once June's excitement over her new distractions die down she'll get back to being that way too. I've looked into the Liberty stuff some, and it always intrigues me, and as I've probably said before, my end goal with June (way down the road) is to be able to ride her with nothing but a neck rope. Anyways, the other day I seen the episode of heartland where the guy is doing Liberty with a couple of Andalusians (my favorite breed) (so that's also my new favorite episode lol) and I just got to thinking.. When should I start Liberty work (ground work) with June? Is it best to wait until she's got a good handle on regular training or is it okay to mix the two?

I'd do both.

I don't know much about liberty. My horses follow me around wherever. Like liberty.
I don't quite know what I did for them to do that- but they didn't do it to start with!

I love heartland!! I've watched every episode-
Except for half of season nine.
The join up stuff actually works too.
Netflix is holding me back from watching more of heartland

I ffollo Karine Vanderbornne(spelling?) And her liberty stuff, but I don't agree wi everything she has to say. Some stuf s prety good tho.

Same here. Don't know what I'm gonna do when I've finished season 6. And I haven't heard of her, maybe I'll look her up

No horse will be the same as the one you lost, but getting another will probably make it a little less painful, that's how I always see it. You should rescue, that way you'll be making a new friend and helping one out. What state do you live in?

It was my older sisters horse, I wasn't very close to the horse but it was still sad.
I'm hoping to rescue, I live in North Dakota

I follow lots of different rescue places on social media, but none way up there! Lol but I'm sure it'd be easy to find one. I wish it had been longer since I adopted Phoenix already, because there's a starved 17.1 hand OTTB that just came into the rescue place that I got him from that id love to adopt, but there's no way I could bring home another right now

That's the bad thing about living up here is that there are no horse rescues nearby
