I've also thought about maybe a 2-3 year old something halter broke and maybe started but I could finish.

So I've decides to join back here since Volleyball got done.

I've got bad news though, on Monday Sneaks got cut by some wire on her forearm, coronet, and point of shoulder. The coronet isn't that bad, the point of shoulder is medium but the forearm is really bad.
There's not enough skin on the point of shoulder or forearm cut to get stitches. We've been putting vetericyn on 2 times a day. Currently her and our other horse, our old mare, are in the corrals probably for the rest of the winter so that I can keep an eye on her.
There's no infection and she's taking good care of it.
I haven't been able to see the cut in good light til today so here's some pictures.

As you can probably tell from the pictures, anything competitive or rodeo is out of the picture and I will never be able to really run her much after this.


My grandpas younger horse went lame due to a muscle injury so it's just a pasture grazer now, but I'm hoping when he's looking for his new horse he will find me something also that I don't necessarily have to be worried about when working cows etc, as bad or mean as it sounds to Sneaks...

Poor Sneaks! Hopefully she heals up okay. I wish I could help, but I'm not super knowledgeable with things like this.

Aw poor baby! It sucks when they're hurt. I hope everything heals up okay.

Okay so the paint mare... here's the thing. I'm trading Jade for her, and the foal she's having this may, plus she will be bred back to the stud.. lol

Wellll, I've been trying and trying to click with Jade and I just can't. I don't know what it is. I can ride June, Penelope, my cousins stud horse all fine and don't get nervous, and I don't have any problems groundworking Jade at all, she's great and I'm confident. But as soon as I get in the saddle I'm just shaking nervous and I won't stay on her more than two minutes. I have no idea why I'm like that with only her. May be because she reminds of the horse that threw me when I was little? I don't know. But I don't just wanna let her sit out in the pasture and waste, and there's this lady who raises foundation quarter horses who reeealllly wants her, and she offered me a 3 in 1 package deal on her so I said yes

I would've gotten over your fear or it can stick with you forever. After I was bucked off and had numerous injuries when I was 10 I was scared to ride any horses, or when any horse startled. I got over my fear with Bert but Sneaks brought it all back since she's so high strung. Everyday I worked at it though. Short rides at a time. Easy rides until I got confident enough to stay on when she started acting up and bucking. There's sometimes when I'm by panels and I will get extremely scared if she starts acting up since that's what I hit my head on. But I don't think ill ever ger over that..

We are calling the vet tomorrow to see if he can come out or we can bring her in since there's no cow sales on the weekend and he won't be super busy

I get what you mean by it looking like the horse that threw you though. I hadn't seen a picture of Sneaks until she got there and when she was a sorrel, like that horse that injured me, I was so scared

Ya but now youll have a different horse you cant ride or that anyone can ride. What good is she gonna be to you?
And she will just use jade as a baby maker till shes worn out.
Poor jade is getting the short end of the stick on this trade.

Here's the mare to go with the papers lol, you can tell her feet look a good decent size, I think the halter lines are a little ways back. She's 12 and not broke, she's been used as broodmare

"Overo" can mean Lethal White Overo, or "Frame;" with the white patches on her neck, I'm leaning in that direction. You need to be careful about who this mare gets bred to, or you may wind up with the heartbreak of a Lethal White foal. With that apron face, she probably sunburns, so she may be very head-shy.

I understand that this woman wants Jade as her new baby factory, but have you thought about why she wants to be rid of this mare so badly that she'll basically give her and one of her potential offspring away for free?

@I Love Layers - gads, what an awful thing to have happened to Sneaks! I'm hoping those cuts heal up cleanly; hoping she will be comfortable and useful again soon.
