Funny how the genetics lottery gets us sometimes. I was happy with 1 hen out of 2 chicks last year. First crow was the dinner bell.
I haven't made my mind up just yet.

We need pictures of you chick.I’m late to the party, but I just wanted to say that I also hatched out a single lone egg that looks similar to your horse babies. I got a half a dozen eggs from the feed store that were from their paired adult chickens that are for sale so the fertility is not guaranteed. One hatched from a white egg and was a yellow chick. She’s about 1.5weeks now and has brown, black and white feathers and a very tiny, almost flat comb like yours. No idea what she is and didnt get to take a look at what adults the feed store had to be able to make an accurate guess. I’m thinking some kind of game bird tho.
