So I gathered. I was hoping you had come up with a way to tell ‘em apart as soon as they pop out of the shell.

I'm not seeing anything at the point that screams MALE on either of them. Some chicks will already have heavier legs. You'll have to keep posting pictures!

So I gathered. I was hoping you had come up with a way to tell ‘em apart as soon as they pop out of the shell.

I am not even sure who or what their parents are.
The 'boy' came from the tinted blue shell.
It's hard to tell the color of the shells in the photos but in person it's almost the same color blue as some of my quailies eggs so...
This (Remember I am making this up here) makes me think there is some kind of Easter Egger in him somewhere down the line.

I think (totally making this next part up too) that if he were female his head lines and eye lines would be more defined.


The little one came from a white egg. I have zero guesses about her and only call her a her because she is smaller.

Not knowing what produced these chicks makes it impossible (I think) to be able to sex them at this age, by looks, for anyone.
