Horses Do Sleep While Standing

my horses minis and big ones alike lay down to sleep a lot, they rarely sleep standing, they must feel safe

its not unusual to look out and see 12 laying flat out... basking in the sun! haha

One of my Fjords (Ole) loves, LOVES to sleep all laid out on the ground in the sun - he's hilarious - he SNORES!

eta: Sorry about his stallion bits (he's a gelding now, enjoying his second career with me as my riding horse and as a lesson horse).




When he gets up, he always has "bed-head"

My other Fjord doesn't lay down as much - and he's younger! *shrugs* They're each so different....I wish I had the money to have 10 of them!!

I actually have seen horses have dreams while they're sleeping - they must be good dreams, because my gelding was nickering in a very...friendly...way...
