Hello! How has everyone's horses been doing?
Things have been insane lately for me... The manager is moving us to one of the other barns (there are 3 on property) where we are renting, and it's been a looong last few weeks. Because of the hurricane, things have been set back as well. Nobody was vacating our stalls or tack rooms right up until recently, and we are officially moving by this weekend. Only today was I actually able to work on putting up saddle and bridle racks for the first time. We also inherited a giant junk room, which isn't even empty yet.
On the bright side, it is a super nice barn ... The renters (for years) before us unfortunately let it go and trashed the place, so it's taking a loooot of cleanup. In the end, our tack rooms and hay/feed storage are bigger, and the barn is very nice. But it sure is a lot.
Beyond that, one of my training horses got sick, and another got adopted within an afternoon lol. (to a lady who rents/shares our new barn -- it turned out to be a perfect match for her and the horse!) I just spent way too much money on some new bath/grooming things for Ginger
and I've been mostly focusing on my trainer's mare, Jett, to finish her and get her ready for showing.
Here she is meeting a (hurricane evacuee) cow the other week. It licked her nose and Jett just about left the barn.
