I have a 9 year old, Tennessee Walking/racking horse gelding named Doc. His pasture buddy is a 14 year old Welsh cross named Munchkin.
I trail ride and Just love them to pieces!

Thank you, I feel so blessed to have them. Doc is very forward but always listened to me. He can rack up a storm and will go anywhere I point his nose. Water, huge hills, high bridges, short bridges and covered ones. He is a trail machine!

I would not say a 18 year old is to old for endurance. If he has good health like you say I would say he would be fine. I don't do endurance but I have done some research about it and I trail ride. If it were me I just would not do like long endurance rides. I would just do shorter ones, but trail riding would probably be fine. He is probably just fine to do it so don't just listen to me ask other people to because like I said I don't knew a lot about endurance I am more of a cutting, reining and jumping person.
