Horses!!!!!!!!

U know what we haven't had rain at my house since June 14'th I think. I was on vacation until the 16'th and since I have been home we have had no rain either. Now surrounding city's/towns and county's have but not us. Weather tends to go around us alot. We are in a little valley.

Must be nice, lol - we have been having daily thunderstorms with torrential rains so the field is a mud pit - which is great when you are trying to prep for show/fair, especially with a light/lots of white horse

At this point I think we'll end up hauling in early and bathing at the fair grounds where we can put them up in the stall after to keep them clean.

Yea I have a white/gray appy that loves to roll and in the winter witch is crazy wet around here I can not keep him clean and don't have heated water so in the winter I have a red horse (we have red dirt here) and come summer it drys out and doesn't rain to much I can kerp a white horse. Lol! I'd go in early to. Sounds like its the only way to get them and keep them clean. Good luck at the show/fair!!!

When I went to the fun show and showd Xenia and shivers( the minis) we bathed the night before and my luck the next day shivers rolled in the mud so I showd a half clean horse. Lol, she did amazing though.

Well, that certainly could have been a lot worse.

Arthur knocked the power out here for a couple of hours, and left us with about 6 inches of rain. Things had been relatively dry around here, and the soil can absorb a lot, but hopefully we won't do that again any time soon. As it is, there is a part of my pasture that I'll have to blockade off for a while; if Latte or Sunny step there, they'll sink in up to their knees, maybe deeper.

Not good.

The first hurricane I experienced was Diana in 1984. We've had a lot of direct hits and near misses since then, and a Cat 1 like Arthur is little more than a nuisance. The only storm I evacuated for was Fran in 1996, but that was because my son was only about 5 months old at the time, and the thought of trying to look after him without electricity was a bit daunting (I wound up having to do it anyway. Fran trashed most of the eastern half of the state; I actually heard the eye pass over the place I had evacuated to. We lost power for about 10 days that time).

I reckon the wet ground has gotten Betsy's feet about as soft as they will ever be, so today might be a good day to trim hooves. I do the mini's feet myself, and Betsy has donkey feet (she's a mule, remember). Those things are hard as rocks!

I glad aurthor didn't get y'all too bad. And tell me about hard hoofs my sister has a mule and we have not touched her feet in years. Solid tough and she keeps them in great shape. Her pasture is rocky in places and sand Rock.
My Appaloosas hoofs are hard as rocks. I trim them and keep them up my self but they are hard. Witch is good! He has great hoofs.

I can home 40minutes ago to find my bullfrog dead. She died getting out of her "pound". I'm cry right now and I can't look at her pics, I haven't cryed this hard over a pet in 2yrs and I only had her for 4-5 days! Mom and dad said I can't get another frog until my rooms clean... So we all now what I'm doing tomarrow! And it will also get me closer to getting Xenia

Hi from lansing Michigan!!!
Does anyone live near me? I have always wanted a horse but I live in the city, with 4chickens and a dog, and my back yard is big but not big enough for a barn, so can I tread someone work ,real country girl work, 4 some one to teach me about horse's,how they act and to ride in a way that is soulful instead of zombie like at a fair or something.

This may sound Questionable to someone that has a horse or any animal really(I don't let strangers around my animal's ether) but me as well as my brother are farmer's, we don't own a pitchfork,or a John deer anything but we are honest, willful and we work hard and if that's not a farmer I don't know what is? So if someone can help as become agricultural apprentices we would be ..........?Overjoyed!!:fl

And for those of you that do live in lansing.......how do you spell county

WITL!!!!!
