Horsfield's Kalij

I raised them along with w.c.,nepal and crawfords.I like them but they are all so flighty.Always crashing into the side of their pen.The crawford male was a mean old bird,he would wait for me at the door and every day we had a battle. After a few weeks of battleing with him I decided to try and calm him down by catching him daily and just holding him.He decided he like to fight better then be friends. The other breeds were flighty but okay.My w.c.,horsefield and nepal did great with setting, but as soon as the chicks hatched off they went.
Good luck with yours, give them plenty of cover and try to keep them calm.

I have a pair of them, but I didn't raise them. They are flighty birds and often will fly towards you instead of away, but not aggressively just panicky. My female will do a lot of hissing and such when handled, but have calmed down since I got them. Give them things to hide in and plenty of room and they seem to get better.
