We needed to clean the coop. Fancy was marvelous about offering to help. She even put on her bandana to keep the dust out of her comb, and mittens to keep her hands clean. So, we let the girls out in the yard. Of course, they immediately started dirt-bathing. We found Fancy a perfect-sized chair for watching chicken tv. She asked me if they would mind if she watched. I said, probably not, since I watch them all the time.
They clucked a bit, and looked at her with suspicion. I told her to give them a bit of time. They were willing to chat with her while they munched on some miner's lettuce. Fancy thought it looked tasty. I told her that it was full of vitamin C, so if she wanted to nibble a bit, no harm done.
Then it was time to shovel out the coop. Fancy grabbed the pitchfork, and I manned the shovel. Together, we had it clean in no time.
Fancy and I sat back and enjoyed a job well-done!
It was getting a bit dark, but Fancy was looking at my yard, and wondering out loud about how I could have so many awesome trees, but no tree swing. So, I found some rope (off an old sled -- don't ask) and a board. Before long, Fancy was pumping her long legs! (Bizzy, note the plum blossom snow!) Boy, can Fancy swing!

I think Fancy should go to NC with you!! As long as you promise to post pictures almost every day. No disappearing acts( I know you wouldn't)
Billy is jealous- he wants to come to california and have fake snow on the ground, and swing on the sled swing. And we do have to ask the story about the old sled....

It's ok- we know you had a very rough day today. I'll even wait until tomorrow to hear the sled story.

Before I close the shutters and turn off the lights tonight, I thought I would share Fancy's afternoon. I was doing what I always do -- working on my house. I dragged out the power saws, drills, and wood. I thought Fancy would like to help me. But, NOOOO, she had other ideas. She decided to take advantage of the California sunshine. She put on some sunscreen, dug out her festive tropicalwear, and sunbathed! Here she is, trying her best to look like a swimsuit model...
She even made me take a pic for the best fluffy butt thread, but I'm not sure it's family friendly, so I'll just post it over there.
