Additional question: do you eat your favorite cereal sweet or savory? I'm personally a savory grits lover but for dessert I dress em up with cinnamon and sugar.

I love them all, especially with fresh berries or a swirl of maple syrup, but my absolute favorite is an oldie. My grandmother would make us cornmeal mush when she visited. It was a bit like modern day polenta, but had a smoother texture. I've never been able to make it quite like Gramma's ( I don't have her patience or her touch,) but mine is passable. It's a true "comfort food" for me.
She always made extra and fridged it in a bread pan. When it solidified, she'd slice it, pan-fry it in butter and top it with a "dippy egg." I wasn't a fan, but I can definitely see the draw!

I LOVE polenta solidified, fried, and topped with butter, cheese, and fried tomatoes. Discovered polenta back in the day when I was a vegan and it's been a favorite ever since.

That's the only way I'll eat grapenuts. Otherwise, it's like eating rocks!

As a vegan I ate them like regular cereal with syrup or raisins, never tried them warm

I'll do cream of wheat with a little milk and some sugar or brown sugar. Oatmeal I generally like with some diced fruit (many different kinds, but one at a time in the bowl) and milk. Both hot.
