Hello! About a week ago I got two week old chicks from a farm in the area. One of them, a white Americana, isn’t looking so good. I put my chicks outside under a wire top this morning to let them play in the grass. They were in the sun, and I’m afraid she had a heat stroke. Her legs are splayed, she is panting a bit, and there is a slight clicking sound in her throat. Her crop is empty. I think she was okay yesterday, but I have noticed her generally being more lazy, and she has always peeped kind of quietly.
When I picked her up and noticed she was sick, she wasn’t peeping like usual, and she couldn’t stand. I tried to cool her off by putting her in some cool water, but she still isn’t looking good. I’m not sure if it’s the sun or another disease!
