Hot weather coop feedback

Doesn't look bad for what it is. Here's what I'd do as far as changes.

Hardware cloth or small opening welded wire (1/2" wide) at least the bottom few feet and then apron it out a minimum of 12". Use landscape staples to hold down the apron and maybe a few tent stakes in the corners and hopefully that will add some stability to the unit as well.

Remove the nest box and add your own nest box near the ground somewhere near the door possibly, so you can easily access it.

Unfortunately, a friend of mine suggested that I call the county zoning commission just to make sure I wouldn't have any issues. Sure enough, even though I live on 5 acres, in one of the most undeveloped areas of my community, chickens are against code... given that we're renting our house, it's not an envelope I can push. Really dumb rule though...

Actually renting and building a decent coop can be counter productive....landlord can be opposed also.
