Hot weather. How should I use heat lamp with chicks

So lately in Georgia we've been having hot weather. High 80s and low 90s. Yes, I know this still isn't warm enough for young chicks but how should I go about with a heat lamp. Should I just set it up higher and when the chicks get old enough is it ok to take the lamp away? We're keeping the chicks in the screened in porch not inside with the AC.

Your chicks won't need heat for long with those air temps! Maybe only at night. Make sure they have a draft free spot though as they can easily get chilled since they don't have their adult feathers.
