You're getting what I usually get.
Ball bungee is what I use on my hoop coops tarps.
I staple 6 mil plastic on the north side.

Dry snow. Soooo… water that isn’t wet? Or is that a weird way to distinguish regular snow from slushy snow?

Dry snow has less moisture, doesn't pack, blows around and drifts readily. Can't make a snowman or snowballs with it. But it is easier to shovel.

We normally get the wet heavy slushy snow, very good for making snowballs iceballs. We used to build snowforts and have battles. Make our snowballs first day, next day they were Iceballs. Those hurt, but it was still fun.

No snow here so far, it was supposed to start hours ago, I think a lot may be evaporating. Time will tell, but I think they may have been off on this one, but I can almost guarantee they will be right about the wind.

Well, here we are (as of 7:30 this morning), 3-4 inches and still coming down hard. The girls still haven’t left their coop, much less the run.

We got a good 8 inches and it’s still snowing. This is out back with my forest chicken shelter in the center of the photo.

And this is what I trekked through this morning to give the Chooks some wet mash (the snow covered roof down to the right of the driveway is the garden shed and the coop is the structure you can barely see to the right of it.)

System is supposed to intensify after noon, and then Katy Bar the Door!

I hope they're wrong.

Still snowing here but should be stopping in a couple of hours. I checked the coop cams and saw lots of snow in the run, and all the chickens huddled in the coop.

I’ve since cleared out part of the snow, and will do more when the snow actually stops, then put down some dry leaves.
