I got rid of the Houdans I had since they were really more like a Polish-- not heavy at all and not good mottling. I am looking to start over. I tried another thread that was pretty dead on Houdans, so since this one seems alive... anyone want to help by selling me something that even remotely looks like Skittles, Gigi or Zach's hen?? BTW I do have Polish here and love them, so no offense to anyone, but Houdans aren't supposed to be light like them etc.

I'm really hoping my little boy houdan catches up growing wise. He should be down right embarrassed he's letting an araucana get bigger then him!

What are the weights like on these Houdans you are posting recently? I never bought from a site. I like supporting people with names I know. I'll think about it.

Skittles won best in Continental class! :woot

I am so proud! Gigi won Reserve! The judge said I should go back and get more lol. I am the only one in New Brunswick that owns these birds. I can't wait to start breeding them! :D

Here is Skittles in all her grooming glory :p I was too distracted by people and other pretty birds that I didn't take any picture better than this :/ Oh well. She did really well. They didn't stress out nearly as much as I thought they would, and so many people were really interested in them. They were not the only crested birds too, but the kids liked the 'Dalmatian' looking ones with hats

Awesome congrats!!!!!!!!!   So I have never been to a show at all, so who did better Skittles or Gigi?
No one in their class.

There are different classes apparently (didn't know this before)

Standard: American, Asiatic, Continental, English, Mediterranean, All Other Standard Breeds

and the Houdans are in the Continental class, along with:
Barnevelder
Campine
Crevecoeur
Faverolle
Houdan
La Fleche
Lakenvelder
Polish
Welsummer
