HOUSE CHICKENS UNITE!!!

I don't have house chickens as such, they all have their own houses and unless one is sick or sitting on a clutch of eggs, they go home at night. They do come and go as they please in my house during the day though.
There are of course a number of hygiene and safety issues and I started a thread enquiring what alterations to a persons normal lifestyle have been necessary to ensure the safety of the chickens when they are in your home.

My two house roos--Peeper & Bucky, after their bath. They're going through their molt right now. After I took this pic they got their spurs & nails trimmed.
I purposely raised them from chicks indoors so they wouldn't carry bacteria or bugs. So no outdoor trips.

I don't have house chickens. :( My chickens don't seem to like being indoors let alone wear a diaper. (Who would?!) I have one hen we think is a mix that is worthy of being one. She is soo darn cute!!! She comes inside after a bath and she'll snuggle for a little while but other than that the other hens just enjoy scratching in the dirt way more than being inside.

This is my sweet and charming part-time house rooster, Leo. :love He’s not a permanent house chicken, just while we’re building his coop(sadly) as much as I would love to have him in the house all the time

(Shh don’t tell him I posted these; he’s quite embarrassed of his diaper) View attachment 1634803 View attachment 1634801 View attachment 1634800 View attachment 1634802 View attachment 1634804 View attachment 1634799 View attachment 1634798 View attachment 1634794 View attachment 1634795 View attachment 1634796 View attachment 1634797
