House geese

Does anybody here have house geese?

I can't image.
Geese are decent size and they crap a ton. Its nasty and stinks terribly.
They're loud and clumsy. If startled they will run straight into things and over things.
If they run they also sometimes prefer to flap their wings while doing so.
Sounds a bit destructive, disruptive and nasty to be indoors.

There are people who do (there are bird diapers to deal with the bathroom issue). I just wondered if anybody on BYC does.

It's likely no more disruptive than having a large parrot in the house.

I can't imagine a goose would be worse than a large dog running through the house either. Our Great Dane mix can tip over couches when she gets going. It's quite a sight to see.

I've got geese. And at one time I had 6 Danes all living in the house. Not a newbie to zoomies.
Id take a Dane over a goose hands down.
If you want a house goose I won't discourage you in fact I say go ahead and get two. They do better in pairs.

I'm always amused when folks mention diapers for chickens, but now we're talking geese. No matter, but the question that always comes to mind when I read about folks doing this is, "How would you like to crap in your underwear for a week without changing them?"

I was starting to think nobody was going to.

My goose was a house goose when she was little, although we took her out as much as possible to graze. She slept in my bed every night until she was six months old and started laying eggs. Now she's five years old and she prefers to stay outside where she can graze and swim, but she still comes in to visit or take a nap a couple of times a day. On really cold winter days she'll spend most of the day inside playing with her baby toys. Luckily we don't get a lot of those; she gets really bored when everything is frozen and covered in snow. In the summer she only comes in to tell me she wants to go for a walk.
