house sitter starved them?

What a terrible experience for all of you. Too bad I don't live close enough to care for them while you are away. Perhaps there should be a place on this forum where BYCers could arrange for sitters.

That is really horrible. So sorry you had to come home to this. I hope you didn't pay good money to this person. Poor things. Makes me afraid to leave our birds.

Thanks for the support, y'all. They are all alive as of this morning. I took the most active of the inside chicks back outside. She is still a little droopy, but was eating okay. The other two inside chicks are just standing around fluffed out. Every now and then they eat and drink a little. They do not look well. I made up a mash of crumbles and warm water and honey. They ate just a bit. Most of it was left untouched. Same deal with the grapes. I see that as a bad sign as they usually are greedy little pig chickens. Sigh.

The outside bunch are looking a little perkier. They are still not up to speed, but only a couple are still standing around fluffed out. There was one that was standing around making unhappy chick sounds, but when I reached to grab her to bring her inside, she made a dash for it. I figured if she was that zippy then she wasn't doing that horrible and just left her out with the others.

My sitter is one of my students. She is supposed to bring the key back to me today. I haven't seen her yet. We will have words.

Oh how awful! That kid has a lot to answer for. There's no excuse for neglect and cruelty! I hope your baby girls make a quick bounce back!
