My husband does what I tell him to do, but rarely will household chores occur to him if I don't TELL him to do it first. I can look at a sink full of dishes and start washing....if left to his own devices, he'll fill the sink then wash what he needs to use next.
My husband works full time as a US marine and I am a full time college student.
We do NOT and will not ever have "traditional" domestic roles. He may do most of the things involving power tools, but what I don't know I'm learning. I do tend to delegate the more heavy lifting type building and renovation chores (I see these as chores) to him as a result of my physical issues in the past few years, but again, that is changing. We just go with the flow.
*except* the animals, since those were mostly my idea, I tend to have to be the one to take care of them...which is fair, I suppose.
My daughter is tasked with feeding the dogs and letting them out in the morning, but other than that, she and my son just make mess at this point.
