My Hoya Compacta is putting out new leaves which I was surprised by since they are supposed to be slow growers.

I recently bought a Thai Monstersa and I love her. Sadly my cat scratched up her new leaf but she recovered alright.

I have some issues with indoor plants.

I have in door plant - peace lily in a similar pot like this internet photo. I used potting mix for soil.

Issues:
Plants seem to not growing at all
Some sort of small flies insects born out of these pots and bite me.
The soil in these pots look miserable.

How to have a pot plants without issues like what I am having now?

I’m not too knowledgeable in anything other than succulents, but I’ll help where I can until someone can help more.

Those small flies sound like fungus gnats. They love moist soil because they need it to reproduce. Keeping the top layer of soil dry helps, but that would harm your specific type of plant. I do believe there are chemical solutions. I have also heard some good things about sprinkling cinnamon on the soil. There is also the solution of getting more plants, like a carnivorous plant for example (think of it as plant math).

As for the soil, have you ever changed it? If not, it could be a good time to do so. Getting a new terracotta pot with a hole in the bottom would also help. Loose-draining soil is a good idea; it’s harder to get root rot, since the soil doesn’t stay moist for long.

From what I know about peace lilies, they like their water, and they like their humidity. I have never had one, so I can’t give you a a watering schedule.

As for humidity, not too much can be done. A shallow tray filled with small pebbles and water is what some use. Misting is practically useless, and it also closes the plant’s stomata (which isn’t really harmful, but it isn’t a good thing either).

When you say the soil looks miserable, could you expand on that?

I'm going to assume that by design, the pot lacks sufficient drainage. Peace Lilies love moist soil, but that also means they need very good drainage to keep their roots from getting waterlogged.

Like Fluffycrow said, loose soil is a must, I would repot the plant, rinse the old soil off of its roots well, and either use a loose, chunky soil mix, or add some orchid bark (can be bought at garden supply centers) to your normal potting mix to add more aeration.

Also as Fluffycrow said, it sounds like you have fungus gnats! They covered pretty much everything there, the only thing that I would add is you can buy sticky traps that attract the gnats to take care of the adult population. You'll still have to buy an insecticide (some natural options, some chemical options, I can take a look) to manage the eggs.

Peace Lilies are also VERY dramatic, they'll droop something awful if they want water, I'd just keep an eye on it, and when you see the very start of drooping, then I'd water.

GORGEOUS Hoya! Look at those lovely dark leaves!

And I must ask, how much did you get that Monstera for? They're still very expensive where I'm at.
