Our first hatch was July 2 they are in a pen adjacent to the coop with momma. Set another 18 eggs today. She will not set in the broody cage so will have to keep her in coop. But after the hatch can I transfer them to the broody pen with the other chicks? They will be about 6 weeks old by then.

I would say that would be to big of a difference in age. About two weeks in the max age difference for me. After that I just find that the older ones are to big and mature to be with such little babies.

depends on the breed of chicken. I have old english game that can be put together even at 4 weeks with no problems. But large breeds no.

they are all bantams
the older ones are cochins and the youngr ones will be polish
