Im thinking of growing them from eggs.. Not sure about their housing after they grow up and be able to fly. How about releasing them in the backyard without a pen, but with bird nests like the ones in the pic? As always I will feed them so they will know this is their home.

Will they disappear anyway?

Button quail are NOT free-range birds! Something will eat them, or they'll fly away. They also won't use bird houses like those. If they use a house, and many won't, they'd rather have something like a hollow log.
Button quail are indoor birds. They don't do well in outdoor temps and are extremely vulnerable to predators. They're also perfectly fine in relatively small enclosures. A male and female quail in a 2 foot by 4 foot pen with plenty of hiding places, things to jump on, and enrichment (toys, treats, sandbox) will be very happy birds. An aviary is also a possibility, if you can protect it from the elements, including temperatures, and all predators down to things like rats.

Thanks for this feedback. Where can I get the best button quail pen for indoors? I searched through Amazon and eBay.. where all pens seem to be designed for outdoors.

Also once I hatch 6 quails.. assuming half females and half males.. should I get another group of 6 to find mates for them?

Rabbit pens will do the trick. You can also build one pretty easily. You just need a pen that's 2 feet by 4 feet, and, if possible, only 1 foot deep or so. If it's more than 18 inches tall, you need to pad the inside of the top with something soft, or they'll hurt their heads jumping up when they get startled.

Hatch your 6, grow them to adulthood, see what mix of males and females you have. The chance of you actually getting 3 and 3 is pretty low. Once you figure that out, either give away extras or get more of the same age. You'll also want to seriously consider how many quail pens you actually want to have. Remember that you need to keep them in pairs, and only in pairs, so only 2 birds per pen.
