I have a couple of Hova-Bators but not the 1588. I use them as hatchers.

This is what I use in all of my styrofoam incubators. I use my styrofoams as hatchers. I put them in the corners in addition to the water in the bottoms. My humidity runs around 75% which works well for me and when I take the chicks out of the incubators the humidity recovers quite quickly.

My last hatch.

will it work good for begginers without a fan or should i save my money to get one with a fan on it

Yes it is a styrofoam incubator. I have an LG, a 1602N--Thermal Air Hova-Bator and a 2362N--Circulated Air Hova-Bator. I added a fan to my 1602N.

Got my 1588 Genesis last week & its up & running, The only problem I had with mine was temp. varying, but I stoped that by resetting the toggle switch on the controll box & it is now running like a champ !!!!! so far so good, I love it.
