Will I be disappointed in this one? I've had to lesser pricey ones and didn't have issues. I had a good chicken mentor tell me for the price (paid $230 for turner, candler and bator) I should do a Brinsea. I only plan on a hatch or two yearly.

I had 2 of them and they work fine. I’ve hatched around 1000 or more chicks out of them. I used one as an incubator and one as a hatcher.
I ran them nonstop from spring through summer. No problems at all. I don’t play with eggs every other day though. Check them at like day 10 and then 18 when you go to lock them down to hatch. Leave them alone otherwise and they should work fine for you.

HovaBators are pretty good, from what I've heard from those who have them

Just to throw another idea out there, Tractor Supply sells a fully digital incubator for $140 that has a built in autoturner and candler. Not sure what kind of capacity you're looking for, but it holds 22 eggs with the turner in. It's called the Nurture Right 360. I have one and love it.

Oh yes I’ve seen that one and heard good stuff. I got my hova 1588 last pm via amazon. Gonna open it up tonight and set up. Getting some Magnolia Silkie eggs next week and cannot wait. Thank you for replying all!!

You tag by adding a @ in front of thier name.
I would stick with the 1588 because there is more headroom than the NR360. I have both and prefer the 1588. Its fully digital and holds temp and humidity great. I use an egg turner in mine and put fish tubing down one of the holes into a chosen trough to add water so I dont even have to open it unless I am candling. The NR360 doesnt have much headroom and it gets crowded in there pretty quick.
When its lockdown, I take out the turner out of tge 1588 and just wait. Have hatched out hundreds of chickens and ducks in it for years.

It's got more headroom than you would think - I've incubated emu eggs in mine Didn't hatch them in there though, not quite enough headroom for that, haha. But I've never had a problem with headroom for chicks, or even goslings.
