Winterizing barn and coop 1/3 way done! I’ll have to fix it up more as the temperature keeps dropping but this is good enough for now! The lamp is infared but also clear… not sure how it’ll work but we will see

Oh! An update, garlic isn’t molting but likely has lice, I can’t see it at all but Carol is currently indoors with a severe infestation and I think that’s what killed Babs my Pavlovskaya, Garlic and Cayenne are ripping their feathers out from it and Kia my roo and Crow seem to be getting anemia (they’ve been getting LOTS of mealworms since they can’t peck around much in the snow)

I guess Peppers cheek fluff is seasonal? She had bare cheeks and chin all spring and summer! View attachment 3332920

It could be from overly self grooming or another chicken over grooming her. My favaucana did that to herself, lol

Get them treated with a permethrin based power or spray asap, before the lice suck them dry

I brought Crow in today who has been acting quite anemic and not eating well, they broke their heat lamp so I think that made things worse for her… she’s eating right now but does seem to have issues keeping it in for long, she looks so much happier and has taught the dogs she’s the queen and will feed them if they’re good
