Does anyone know how old embden geese have to be to start laying

I did not know about this group~ I think mine is also an Embden. She is a rescue from a local park where she was being abused. She was eating all kinds of lettuce, apples and all until about a week ago and now she is only eating her wildfowl pellets and corn that I have a little grit mixed in with.....Is this normal? Could she be depressed because she doesn't have a mate?

My gander lived only with Muscovy ducks for the first 6yrs of his life and loved his mama duck, I think it could work with a duck especially if finding another goose isn't working out,. Not to go against what psue says, But I do think geese and ducks can form bonds if that's all they have.

I have 4 ducks and just one goose. They get along famously and the goose seems happy. I am not sure if the goose thinks she's a duck, if she thinks the ducks are just funny looking geese or if all of them just think they are weird looking cats. I say cats because they will actively seek out my one outdoor cat, sit in the sun with her and preen! They won't sit in the sun unless it's with the cat. Otherwise, it's shade all the way. They don't give a fig about the dogs unless they get too near food or treats or the almighty pool... then they will run the dogs off!
