How about keeping a live trap going 24/7 in season?

true, keeping the bait supplied could be a pain, and you may catch unnecessary things.
But if one could catch potential predators while they are still 'potential'......................?

I keep live traps set 24/7 365 days. Bait eggs last forever....only catch racoons,possums,and skunks. No pets

I keep my live traps working maybe 30-40 weeks a yr..Sometimes they don't catch for a good while..
I like to work them not far from my coops, so i can be pretty sure, whatever i catch is sniffing around for my birds...

I've caught possums just by setting the trap against a wall, and arranging some large flower pots to "funnel" them in.
No bait required

Get some "deer netting" and roll some up where you're having the snake problem

They will get tangled when they try to crawl through it

I've been trapping almost every night since I had to move my roosters out to the sticks. I've caught 8 or more raccoons, 2 red foxes, 1 skunk, and several young possums
Either nothing has come by in a day or two, or they didn't approve of the leftover Sonic tots that I threw in there the other night. My standard bait is the cheapest brand dry cat food.
