Everything online says that budgies are curious and active and noisy with chirps and chattering.
Mine (almost 4 months old) are only active a couple times a day. They eat and drink plenty, and they have time out of their cage. They do not seem to be afraid of me.
They have random bursts of excitement between one another, and they sometimes make a lot of noise when they want to know what I'm doing. But there are lengthy periods of time when they are quiet. Some days they just sit on their perch. Other days they fight over a favorite toy.
How active should they be?
I want them to be happy and healthy.
Will they get more active when they get older?
