How am I doing?? and whats causing this

I wish these hatcheries would post actual pics of their actual birds at maturity so a person could get a look at them. They all use that very same pic and it means nothing! I went to their site but didn't see anything more than I see at the others...that same pic and promise.

What do the other folks say about their results with that hatchery?

I searched at the top for Schlecht and came up with dozens of hits. As far as I can tell they are almost all positive. Very positive about the customer service.

18 weeks. I have 2 of her chicks in the brooder.

Beautiful pictures!!

How old is the one that you're hatching from? Did she (does she?) do well and did you keep her in with the layers? If I can find a few meat chicks I'm going to raise them with my layer chicks this year and try to keep 1 or 2.

She would have done fine with my layers, but does not do fine with young males. They take advantage of her. She is not as fast as the lean ones.. Nothing wrong with that.. :p She is in with a mature rooster and 14 Barred Rock hens.

She was hatched June 28th (well that's the day I got her, so maybe a couple days prior).

So she is 8 months old. I just sold her two I've hatched. I have more coming out this Wednesday.

That's good to know! It's something I want to try every year, but I raise meaties in the fall, so it's too difficult to try to integrate two chicks into my adult flock. If TSC has some this week I'm going to try it.
