    They usually lay every 23-25 hours, so one per day. Keep in mind that this is just normal, not the rule. Some skip days some lay twice once in a while, some go strike for weeks at a time. They also stop laying when the molt, or if they go broody. I think that is why they say don't dount your chickens before they hatch. You never know how many you will get.

    Yep! One a day is great, 5 a week is OK, and the occasional 8 in one week is not unheard of, though it is very much something to be bragged about!

    Chickens don't read rules very well, so be flexible.
