How are they still alive?!?

It is the Araucanas that have the lethal gene but they are (I think?) related aren't they so maybe sometimes that gene can come through :idunno

I think they are so distantly related they don’t have the lethal double tuft gene. Ameraucanas have beards and muffs not tufts. And I think the chicks that receive the lethal dose die in shell or shortly after. In my case, the eggs just don’t develop.

Such complicated birds! Reading it made my head spin. Lol Araucanas are such a cool breed. Definitely not for the faint of heart.
