I continue to get eggs shipped from sellers who use grocery egg cartons, almost all of them fail to develope while eggs in the same incubator recieved packaged in bubble wrap have a high rate of hatch. I recieved a doz. pkged in egg carton, rather than leaving bad feedback i contacted seller about broken eggs, egg yolk on those that were not broken, and detached air sacs. He voluntarily replaced 10 eggs at his expense assuring me that he was taking every precaution to package the best he could. The 10 replacement eggs arrived again packaged in egg cartons even after i had suggested that he visit this thread for best practices. After several days in the incubator they are not developing at all, btw one of them was also broken. I am really bummed as I am really wanting some nice Dark Brahmas and his auction pics looked real nice. I will admit that the eggs traveled from texas to NY but the eggs that i purchased from washington state a month or so ago that were packaged in bubble wrap had a very high hatch rate. I actually recommended that sell mentioned earlier in this thread. I will not leave bad feedback for the sellers that can't get it right, I just will not use them again or recommend them to anyone.
I paid for 10 eggs shipped from TN to CA. I got 12 in an egg carton. I got 5 to hatch. Atleast they arrived big end up.Every time I've gotten eggs in an egg carton I have the same experience. Really frustrating. It seems people don't quite understand that if they put something solid in the box with the eggs, it's just one more hard thing for the eggs to break against...
I have some Dark Brahmas, pics are in my profile. I'm new to the breed so I don't know for sure what quality they are, but feel free to pm me if you would like some eggs. I pack them the "right" way, lol.
thanks so much for your data, you are doing statistically better than most who recieve eggs in an egg carton.I paid for 10 eggs shipped from TN to CA. I got 12 in an egg carton. I got 5 to hatch. Atleast they arrived big end up.
