I can not even think of the pain, it must stretch her flesh to come out. I want to reward her, help her to gain some weight, but any extra will be bigger egg. That sounds like it hurts and I can imagine that's a huge egg!
I remember once as a kid I got a huge egg one day from my little flock. Just ginormous! And then I dropped it. Two yolks rolled out on the ground. I never got another one.Our girl, Violet, is newly laying. This was her 7th egg (laid for 6 days in a row, skipped a day, and BAM).
Her previous egg was 52g, and this egg is 77g! Will her eggs get bigger?! We haven't used this one yet to see if it is possibly a double. (My sister thinks it is).
**Edited because I pressed enter too quickly**
110g?!110g and it has blood stain on it. It is from a 1.5 years old Isa Brown hen. Whenever I give her extra protein, that what comes out. She is skinny, lay egg every day, poor feathering, has not molt at all.
Don't you hate it when you drop the prized ones?! We just got our first "fairy egg" that I had been patiently waiting for and.... I DROPPED IT TOO!I remember once as a kid I got a huge egg one day from my little flock. Just ginormous! And then I dropped it. Two yolks rolled out on the ground. I never got another one.![]()
