How big is your flock

I have 9, 8hens and a rooster, that make up a variety flock. 2 buffs,1 austrlops,2 doms, 1 OE, 1 EE, 1 marans, and Captian James T Cluck (rooster) is a Silver Phoenix. They are not quite laying yet but I am anxiously waiting. The rooster has been enjoying a few of the ladys.

I will be expanding my run later to expand the flock to 12.

I have only 7 chickens, but I would love to expand the coop/run this year so I can upsize my flock!

Small Flock - I update my sig with births and cullings.

Quick summary - 27 hatchery breeds and crosses in the run (including 5 pekin ducks), 4 barnyard mutts in the brooder for transfer to grow out in 10 days, 12 eggs (more barnyard mutts - its a very lucky rooster I have at present) due around New Years'.

11 hens - 2 standard and 9 bantams. But I'll be on the hunt for more in the spring

18! I have three cockerels, two are mutts and one is a blue copper Maran. Four pullets, all have laid at least one egg and are 26 weeks old but laying either in the woods or inconsistently. Three younger mutt pullets around 14-15 weeks old (dad is one of the cockerels and he has domique heritage, moms were all EEs). The remaining birds are all pure bred and not laying after molting. We are building a coop and run that will comfortably enclose 40 birds, but up to 60 if we free range more often. I am looking to add more hatchery chicks and try production breeds in the spring to boost my bumbers, and breed the blue copper Maran for some pure bred Marans, and F1 and F2 olive eggers to try to sell, but will keep them if they don’t sell. We will just eat the roosters when we profess next falls CX as the old coop will be turned into a bachelor pad if necessary.
