How big to cut out the chicken door?

I'm making a shipping crate coop, and I'm ready to cut out the door for the chickens to go in and out. How big does the hole have to be. I have EE, RIR, FBCM, and 2 Silkies.

Mine is 13 high x 10.5 wide.

Mine is 9x12 and this Standard Delaware has no problems with it.

If you plan to have Jersey Giant, go with 10 x 14". The rooster about 24" tall. You could always make smaller by adding trim around the door.
