Someone here on BYC started a thread not too long ago; "Anyone interested in Standard size Silkies?" or something like that. She claims her birds are weighing 10 pounds?? I find that a bit hard to swallow, but you should search for that on BYC and see if you can get some eggs or birds from her? If I come across the link, I'll post it here.

As far as I have found for the "standard sized", they have a higher incidence of hard feathering and are 6-7 pounds- my boy Benny was stocky he was maybe 4-5 pounds- but I lost him to a possum also as far as I have found they are always white (at the moment).

My silkie just hatched her first brood. She's very small and she had 14 eggs underneath her, completely hidden. They spread their bodies out, they know what they are doing. They really are great broodies.
Also: She had 3 bantam eggs in there, the rest were from my Ameraucanas, Rhode Island Red and my Black Sexlinks.

I just got my first silkies a few weeks ago and I honestly don't much about the breed. I use to just have EE and RIR's. Are the Silkies good at hatching eggs? I'm not sure if mine are even hens or roosters!

silkies are THE natural incubators of the chicken world. I have 4 silkies on their SECOND set of eggs since March. *sigh* Silkies will try to incubate eggs all year round if you let them!!! They brood and hatch eggs more than they lay 'em! (not all mind you, but it is definately a common trait in the breed)

My silkies tend to incubate 12 bantam eggs easily, or 6-8 large standard sized eggs. I have one hen on 4 extra large EE eggs right now

I was wondering that. Because I have 2 silky's and they seemed the same size as my BSL and RIR pullets when hatchlings. But now 10 weeks later they are about 1/2 or even 1/3 the size of them.
