How Blue will she be?

I hope she is. Cotton came with assorted feather legs from Ideal. I ordered pullets, but they sent me a straight run. I had a bad feeling that since he was such a cutie he'd turn out to be a roo. Sure enough he's the darn cutest roo of our crew. He's lucky he's so cute, cuz he gets to stay. The rest of our roos will become dinner.

Hubbies said if any of these are boys they will be dinner too. But we ordered Brown egg layer pullets, and EE pullets. So maybe if just Moonie is a roo he wont have to go in the freezer.

I hope you did get all pullets!! We got our 3 EEs from a feed store, that swore that they were all pullets. One has turned out to be a roo.

We're planning on keeping him and Cotton and building them a bachelor pad. Our other 3 roos from my accidental staright run will be processed along with the 12 meat birds I just ordered. I figure that way we can't tell who we're eating.

We love watching Cotton. He's so fluffy he waddles when he walks. I figure will get another blue cochin chick in the spring and hope for a girl!!

This is Luna at 2 days old

She is in the food tray at the top...cute little light blue thing...the reddish one with the really light head to the right of the GLW is the red cochin named Ruby

I so love these 2 girls and my 4 remaining Salmon Faverolles...I lost one at 4 days old

I thought Luna may just be a splash because she was so light and merely marked with Blue....all I can say is YAY!

Oh, she's adorable!! Yep, definitely a splash, especially since Cotton was very blue in the beginning. Thanks for the info on where you got her, I may have to order a few splash in the spring. I just love my cochin!!

I'm so sorry to hear that you lost one of your sweet babies.

That would be tough.

That is the funny thing....Meyer Hatchery does not list Splash as an option for ordering...I ordered 1 blue and 1 red cochin. They offer, Blue, White and Red. I think I just got very lucky with my little Luna.

Speaking of Luna...when I went in this morning, she was sitting on the top edge of the brooder looking like she owned the joint and belonged outside the brooder.
